Harikumar made his debut in 1981 with ‘Ambalpoovu,’ with the late actor Sukumaran in the lead. Director Harikumar through his movies has always put relationships under the scanner. Whether it’s his much-acclaimed ‘Sukrutham’, a film that used death as a metaphor which altered the lives of many, or the more recent ‘Paranju Theeratha Visheshangal’ about wavering familial ties, each of his films has narrated the stories of troubled individuals.
Harikumar made three films with Bharath Gopy in leading roles – Snehapoorvam Meera (1982), Oru Swakaryam (1983) and Puli Varunne Puli (1985). It was sheer delight watching Bharat Gopy in all the three, with the last that helped showcase another level of humor and satire onscreen.
