While going through the contents ,I recalled the day I saw Kodiyettam. Then I found Yavanika and Ormakkayi. Finding these films and watching them again and again was really an experience. Felt sad to learn about the sudden health issues to Gopy Sir’s career in eighties .
Hats off to a stellar performer who never ceases to enlighten us even today!
An excellent actor and Murali Gopi has proved and acting runs in the genes through some of the variety characters he has enacted.
🙂
Beyond my words!
Words are less to describe the legendary actor !!!
Unmatched unparalleled Actor of all times,,,
Really admire this actor …
I mean they should make the budding new actors to watch all his movies and if they can do 20% of what he did, then they can be rated as actors..
Man who defied all laws of cinema —The stammering he brings when needed while delivering the dialogue is so natural
Ultimately a King of Actors —not a king an emperor —
I admired sir’s acting from my childhood.
Salute….
Thats it….
You will Never be Forgotten
An era so different. Glad to have seen a few of those masterpieces of him.
You will always live along with your works…
You will always live along through your works…
Bharat Gopy was one of the finest actors of cinema ((not just Malayalam or Indian). I was always mesmerized the way transformed to his roles. We never felt that he is acting. He was remembered as the characters he portayed. His unparalleled acting in Yavanika is worth mentioning. Many of us are unaware that he don’t perform with tabala, while he played the role of tablaist Ayyappan, a cold blooded one. He never showed any mannerisms of a villain or a cruel charactor. But Gopi scared us as tablaist Ayyappan. We can write volumes and volumes on him as The Actor, the real one. We just can proudly say that we lived in the era when legendary actor Bharat Gopy lived.
salute a great actor……..
ആ അഭിനയ പ്രതിഭക്ക് ആദരാഞ്ജലികൾ !!!
A big salute to the great actor and artist!
Shibu

Just unadulterated immense respect and adoration for a master artiste!
A rare actor with harmony
An excellent and Captivating actor. Hats off to you!!
..simply UNIQUE !
A timeless magician on screen who could mesmerize a generation and continues to do even today… The most subtle, yet profound and deep, portrayal of characters from Swayamvaram to Rasathanthram! May his movies be compiled into a classic collection and made available to his fans and students of acting for the camera. Thank you BG sir for being what you were – a legend!
Such simple and great actor
THE LEGEND
One of the best Malayalam has ever produced. Superb talent! Respect.
Truly the king of actors . He should have deserved more than a Bharat award.
Pranamangal ….
Once again got a chance to go 30 years back …. remembering the times with “Kochammavan”.. Hope Murali remember us … As we were very close at that time ..
He was the greatest of the actors the world has ever seen. All the characters he depicted are in my mind and will be there for ever.. I respect and salute you. One I happened to meet him and it was like a lightning entering me when you shook my hand and I was overwhelmed. I managed to tell you that I respect you the most among the actors. I even now cherish and live that moment. And will continue till I take leave of this earth
i don’t believe that i am not a person ,give tribute to bharath gopi…the only actor who inspired me and teach me acting is completely BEHAVING..In one word he is “ACTOR OF ACTORS”(NADANA VISMAYAM).I believe that he is “ROBERT DENERO” of Indian cinema..nothing more,i am too emotional, when write something about him..
sir..YOU WILL ALWAYS IN MY HEART..WHO ELSE CAN GIVE US CHARACTER LIKE “THABALIST AYYAPPAN”

BEST WISHES TO ALL THE MEMBERS WHO WORKED BEHIND THIS WEBSITE..MY PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU..MURALI CHETTA,THANKS FOR GIVING THIS SITE FOR US……………
Thank you Raj Kumar. Appreciate your kind words. Will pass on your good wishes to the entire team.
I have to admit that I have not watched most of Gopi Sir’s talked about movies like Swayamvaram, Kodiyettam, and Lorry… But, I have had the privilege of ‘experiencing’ his raw acting talent through movies like Paalangal, Yavanika, Akkare, Kaattathe killikkuudu, Panchavadipaalam and Aaroorumariyaathe… The most natural and most versatile actor ever!
Salutes to you Gopiyetta!
It is not yet late Vishnu. You could still get yourself a copy of the movies online. You could check the respective Filmography Pages to get through. Also, Lorry by Bharathan had Achenkunju in the lead role and not Bharat Gopy. Thanks.

A big salute to the Legondary actor of Malayalam Cinema….His remarkable roles of Panchavadi palam, kodiyettam, Chidambaram, Kallan Pavithran, Kattathe Kilikoodu, Ente Maamaatti Kuttiyammakku..etc.. proves that he was one of the most versatile actor ever been in Indian film industy.

My Ever time favorite actor…Salute Sir..you always surprised me..
Great Actor, The real legend of Malayalam Cinema.
“The Song is Ended, but the Melody Lingers On”, a wonderful song composed by Irving Berlin & written by Beda Loehner ; truly depicts your essence. Sir, you were a legend and will be known as the same for many more years. Though you are not with us now, but you are and will be an idol for many people out there who are working hard in the field of arts.
I do not have words to praise Mr.Bharath Gopi..Hats off to this Legend
True Legend..No Comparison for his way of presentation & talent
The video is extremely well done and made my eyes well up to watch the sheer brilliance of the legend. May the connoisseurs and the actors, both aspiring and established, benefit !A glance ,a twitch of a facial muscle, an angle in which he lifts his head, a sneer – he mastered the art of conveying without words like no other. My bows to the great man!
I never knew that bharat Gopy had acted in these many movies.. OMG!! missed to respect this person’s achievement when he was alive.. But happy that his son rocks in malayalam film industry….
A Legend <3
A legend… Could not complete lot….. but whatever he did will remain as a valuable reference to the true actors till the end of this universe. Personally a great great lose for me. May god offer him a rebirth to do his maximum…..
സ്നേഹം
have first heard of Gopi sir from by ucle Mr GS Murali (Areena Murali) when Gopy sir has in treatment after his paralysis.. and latter have seen him many events, the last memory is his presence on my cousin’s marriage …
if he has not affected health issues Gopy sir should have reached many heights and give us many characters to remember ..
Bharat Gopi… Actor par excellence.
You fell asleep without goodbye, yet memories of you will never die…
Bharath Gopy has been a part of my journey through knowing and appreciating Malayalam cinema. There was a time when I would not miss a movie in which he featured. Be it Kodiyettam, Thambu, Kaattathe Kilikoodu, Ormmakkai, Sandhyamayangum Neram to Vardhakyapuranam, Ashtapathi, Aghat, Satah se Utah tha aadmi I would have watched almost all movies he had acted in. He left a lasting impression in all the characters he essayed. An actor par excellence. Proved a genius in all areas of cinema – actor, director, producer and writer. Thanks to Murali Gopy for such a venture in collaboration with *conditions apply. This site is indeed a fitting tribute to the multifaceted genius Bharath Gopy.
Bharat Gopy – This must be what a consummate artist must look like! It took me considerable time before I started appreciating the sheer genius that this man was. But I do remember the chilling fear that Justice Balagangadhara Menon evoked in me as a kid. And when I did start appreciating this master, I regretted the fact that I had missed so many electrifying performances on the big screen. I have caught up with quite a few Gopys (borrowing R Ayyappan’s concept here), but there are many more to meet and not just the ones on screen! I hope to meet them all. Seriously! The man acted, he directed, he wrote, he produced – and walked away with honors for all of them! Now how many people can boast of such multi-faceted excellence?
This website just makes me so happy. It is not just a website. It is an exhaustive museum dedicated to the life and works of Bharat Gopy, the Complete Actor.
And a wonderful tribute by a loving son! Nothing this monumental has ever been created for any Indian artist and the love and passion behind this is evident at every click. Awesome job by *Conditions Apply in creating this piece of art.
Actors turned directors have been legion in Malayalamcinema, But an actor turned director who wins National Awards in both, turns to writing on Cinema, wins the next National Award, wins another Vshantaram Gold Award as he turns Producer – to achieve all this in 3 decades of active career in cinema is almost superjuman. But then again, Bharat Gopy was that and more.
Also, a fabulous website.Feels like sitting right in the middle of a library, surrounded by words and images you love. Beautiful !
